Biography

Beloved faculty member Professor Bilgin Kısakürek, first graduated from our department in 1966. In 1967, he obtained his MSc degree, also from our department. He went on to study abroad and earned his PhD in 1972 from Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1984, he became an instructor in Ankara University, Chemical Engineering Department. After leaving Ankara University in 1989, he started teaching in our department. He mainly focused on teaching Process Control, Seperation Processes and Chemical Engineering Design. During his life, he focused on Process Modeling and Control and Simultaneous Heat and Mass Transfer topics, and made significant scientific contributions to the field of chemical engineering, both with his publications, and the students he has supervised. Professor Bilgin Kısakürek has sadly passed away in February 8th, 2012.
